Investing always involves the risk of loss.
Paradoxically, investing is often most risky when it appears safest. This lesson of history led us to adopt a rather unconventional strategy – a contrarian approach to investing. We believe our approach has great merit, based upon our reading of history of our own track record to date. But as you surely have heard before, the past isn’t necessarily a guide to the future. No matter how well we do our job, no matter how much research we conduct, no matter how promising the opportunity, or certain our analyst… you cannot escape the fact that every investment opportunity (and particularly in stocks) comes with the risk of a loss. These risks are part of the reason why great investment ideas are rare and incredibly valuable. You should understand why a business – like ours – would be willing to share investment ideas with you and under what terms. We’ve prepared this document to help you understand exactly why we publish our best investment ideas (instead of simply investing in them or managing a hedge fund or other investment pool). It will give you insight into the specific conflict of interest we face as publishers and describe how we collect our track records. It will describe our posture in regards to guarantees and refunds. It will explain the regulatory and legal framework that governs how we operate and perhaps most important, it will set the stage for a long and happy business relationship. We’ve been successful in this business over many years because we’ve always been dedicated to serving our subscribers by only publishing materials we’d want our own families to read and follow, by always being completely transparent about the utility of our products (track records), and by always considering how we’d want to be treated if the roles were reversed. If you’ll take the time to read this document, we believe you will be far more likely to succeed using our materials. You will know more about our approach to serving investors. You’ll know more about the limits of what we can help you achieve. And most of all, you will know a lot more about the risks you inevitably face as an investor.

Yes, Your iPhone Camera Quality Can be Improved With These Lenses

If you want to amp up your videos and photos on your smartphone, we recommend Moment’s Anamorphic Lens. This is the best in the category. We have tested over 80 smartphone lenses over the course of 6 years while traveling to various European countries or visiting the mountains of Hawaii. The Criacr 3-in-1 Lens Kit is more suitable for people on a budget.

And while we still recommend Moment’s Wide 18mm Lens and Tele 58mm Lens, these may not feel as necessary if you have a newer iPhone with three built-in lenses. The 18mm Lens expands your iPhone’s field of view just enough to feel like a fresh perspective (about 0.63x magnification). The 2x Tele 58mm doubles the optical zoom of your iPhone’s lens without degrading the image quality as digital zoom can.

When you’re searching online, you can find a lot of cheap lens-attachment options, many of which continue to be best sellers on Amazon. But popularity doesn’t equate to quality, and in our research for this guide we ruled out a lot of contenders that looked promising but failed to deliver adequate results. As with most small tech gear, you can find several companies selling what appear to be identical products on Amazon. Although these items may well be the same and are likely sourced from the same original manufacturers, the brands reselling them can differ in the level of quality control and customer support they offer. When we encountered seemingly identical models in our research, we took price, reviews, and the brand’s track record into consideration.

Oral-B’s New Toothbrush Was 6 Years In Development. Every Year Was Worth It

Oral-B has been the best toothbrush around since the early 60s, back when power brushes were a thing of novelty. The past few decades brought some major advancements- pressure sensors, two minute timers, and a Blueotoh-connected app. However, Oral-B’s Procter&Gamble team followed an older line of philosophy when developing their latest line of toothbrushes.

“The only thing we’ve kept is the round head,” says Christian Mandl, senior director of oral care R&D. Based in Germany, Mandl was part of the team that developed iO, and the process included six years of research. The iO, which is available at major retailers this month, has other familiar features, too, but they’ve all been redesigned for maximum effect. I’ve been using an electric toothbrush since 2018, and the iO Series 8 for the past three months. The only time my pearly whites have felt cleaner is just after I’ve left the dentist.

The first smart toothbrushes hit the market seven or eight years ago, and now all the major players in the oral health world have joined the fray. The smart features on the iO are certainly flashy, but it’s the new drive system that left a lasting impression. (This is Popular Mechanics, after all.) Oral-B created a pint-size linear magnetic motor, which generates power as a magnetic axis moves from side to side between two poles. An added counterweight and some springs even out the motion for less vibration compared to a brush with a traditional geared or sonic motor.

You don’t have to use the app while brushing, and sometimes I didn’t (my phone spends enough time in bathrooms as it is). You choose which cleaning mode you want from the handle anyway, and the 30-second pulse alerts and stopwatch on the handle’s color display let me track my time. Those unguided sessions still appeared the next time I opened the app but only logged the total time as well as how much of that, if any, was spent brushing too hard. Although the novelty of the app wore off eventually, the desire to improve my brushing score has kept me using it more often than not.
